The Iphone Gets Developer-Friendly

Iphone 3rd party applications allowed
One thing you have to say about Steve Jobs, Apple’s chairman, is that somehow or other, and at unpredictable times, he does see the light.

The fact is that ever since he announced the Iphone, he’s been saying that he will not allow third-party software applications to run on it. The reasons he gave were security risks and operating system crashes.

Probably realizing that disallowing third party software for the Iphone will limit its functionality, make it less competitive with mobiles running the Windows Mobile operating system and hurt business, he is slowly backtracking.

In an interview with Walt Mossberg, he said about requests for using third-party software: “If you can just be a little more patient with us I think everyone can get what they want.”

Keep at it Steve, hopefully you’ll make the Iphone a phenomenon like the Ipod!
