The Mobile Web is Going to Explode: Ask Microsoft

The mobile web monster is approaching in the distance. How do I know that? Because there are signs.

The latest sign is that Microsoft is showering the monster with money. I saw this in India Times Infotech:

” Microsoft, which has about 3,000 employees on the mainland, last year invested about $150 million “in just people costs” in China and will “add probably 40% in people” this year.
Much of the new spending will be on Microsoft’s mobility software, including Web services, digital entertainment and media applications for mobile telephones… ”

Google’s just made Gmail cell phone enabled. Yahoo has a special set of applications to download into certain phones. What does all this add up to?

A mobile web explosion.
