The Mobile Web is Going to Explode: Ask Microsoft

May 28, 2007 on 6:16 pm | In Web Design |

Mobile Web ExplosionThe mobile web monster is approaching in the distance. How do I know that? Because there are signs.

The latest sign is that Microsoft is showering the monster with money. I saw this in India Times Infotech:

Microsoft, which has about 3,000 employees on the mainland, last year invested about $150 million “in just people costs” in China and will “add probably 40% in people” this year.
Much of the new spending will be on Microsoft’s mobility software, including Web services, digital entertainment and media applications for mobile telephones…

Google’s just made Gmail cell phone enabled. Yahoo has a special set of applications to download into certain phones. What does all this add up to?

A mobile web explosion.

Be ready for it!
